Some other mentions...
Ace & the Ragers: The real Sultans of Swing!
OK, they may consider themselves a rock-n-roll band. But whether you like
rock-n-roll, rockabilly, or swing, Light This Sucker Up from Cleveland's own
Ace & the Ragers is for you. Their CD is guaranteed to get you off your seat
and on your feet. Whether you're cuttin' the rug to "Boom Shanga-Langa",
slow-dancing to the ballad "Christine", or just rocking to the direct and
to-the-point "Beer", you will get a lot of plays from Light This Sucker Up.
This is one CD that will not collect dust on your dresser after you play it
once or twice. (Better still, see them live if you can. It will be impossible
for you to sit down!)
ACE & THE RAGERS: Light This Sucker Up (Pin Up Records)
All Right!! Some real Rock and Roll from America (Ohio, to tell the truth). This is NOT a rockabilly,
this is straight rock'n'roll, heavily based on 50's, but at the same time very contemporary. Two saxes
give some extra spice to their sound. They don't fall in "ShananaFonzieJoanieLovesChachi"-crap here.
They write rockin' songs and rock out with the best of them!!!
Custom-built Fan-Zine
Ace and the Ragers took the place over and played their high energy old-style rock and roll and kicked ass as usual. I've been to a bunch of Ace shows lately and I'm completely entertained every time. For anyone who hasn't had a chance to check them out, do it soon. They are on the verge of going national and pretty soon you'll have to pay $30 at the Convocation Center to get a glimpse of them once a year when they decide to play here after they've become rich and famous rock stars.
